We recently had an Isuzu truck come in for a routine glow plug replacement. All was going smoothly—until it wasn’t. One of the glow plugs snapped during removal, leaving the tip sitting on top of the piston. For most, that’s a worst-case scenario: it often means pulling the head off completely, turning a simple job into a major operation.
But we’re not most.
Instead of diving straight into a time-consuming and costly fix, we hit pause and put our heads together. With a bit of ingenuity and some custom rigging, we created a vacuum system and—after some careful maneuvering—successfully sucked the broken piece out from the top of the piston.
No head removal. No unnecessary downtime. Just a job saved by experience, quick thinking, and a bit of mechanical creativity.
That’s the difference when your truck’s in the right hands.
