In this month’s behind-the-scenes look at life in the workshop, we’re sharing the journey of a hardworking red bonneted Kenworth that came to us in serious need of help.
The truck was hauling three trailers up a steep hill when the driver missed a gear. What followed was a whole lot of revs — and then, nothing. No gears. No drive. Just a call for help.
The tow truck brought it straight to Webbie’s Mechanical, where our team got to work. It didn’t take long to find the problem: a completely snapped input shaft. We pulled the gearbox, laid out the two broken halves of the shaft, and got to work replacing it — along with the clutch while we were in there.
A few hours (and a few cups of coffee) later, that Kenworth was back on the road, heading up that same hill — this time, shifting smooth and pulling strong.
It’s just another day at Webbie’s, where we treat every job with care and every truck like it’s one of our own.
