1. Jack up your front axle — just enough so the wheel spins freely.
2. Grab a tyre lever and place it under the wheel.
3. Gently stand on the lever to lift the wheel up and down.
4. Watch the side of the kingpin and steering knuckle closely.

What you’re looking for:
If you see a gap opening and closing between the knuckle and the kingpin, that’s a clear sign of wear in the king pins or bushes.

It’s a simple check that can help prevent serious steering and tyre issues down the track.
