It started with a phone call:
“My Volvo’s leaking coolant — and fast.”
The driver had spotted a small puddle under his green cab-over Volvo, but by the time he got off the phone, it had turned into a full-blown waterfall.
The next morning, we got the truck booked in and on-site at Webbie’s Mechanical. And sure enough — coolant was streaming out the bottom. It wasn’t just a leak — it looked like someone had pulled the plug on a bathtub.
We tilted the cab and got to work tracing the source. It didn’t take long to find the culprit:
A split plastic thermostat hose, hidden deep in the system, had cracked right through.
These plastic fittings are common — and so are their failures. They get brittle, they age, and eventually, they split under pressure. Unfortunately, when they do, they don’t drip… they gush.
We replaced the hose, pressure tested the system, refilled with coolant, and had the Volvo back on the road that same day.
No overnight delays. No backlogs. Just a proper fix, fast.
