You’re 100km out of Perth, truck temp is climbing, and you’ve got a load to get on the road.
That’s exactly the spot this Freightliner driver found himself in.
Instead of risking a full breakdown, he did what smart operators do — he nursed it in, dropped his trailer for loading, and brought the truck to us first thing the next morning.
Straight away we spotted a few warning signs:
- A strange wear pattern on the fan belt
- A small pool of coolant on the floor under the truck
We removed the belt and gave the water pump a spin — and there it was. The bearing had collapsed. That would’ve been a much bigger failure if he’d kept pushing.
We swapped the pump, flushed the system, got the belt back on and had him back out the door the same day — loaded, running cool, and ready to hit the road again.
This is why early signs matter. If something doesn’t feel right, get it checked before it turns into something serious.
