You’re driving at night.
Music’s up, the cab is calm, and everything seems to be running fine.
But under the hood?
Your engine’s telling a different story.
A radiator hose has blown — all the coolant is gone.
And you don’t even know it.
There’s no beeping. No flashing lights.
Just the smooth hum of tyres on bitumen… and an engine running dry.
Thirty minutes later, you finally stop.
Coolant tank’s bone dry.
You top it up with cold water and hope for the best.
By the time you limp back to the yard, it’s drinking coolant like it’s thirsty for punishment.
We get the call.
Truck gets towed in.
We pull the head and it’s not good.
The cylinder head is cracked.
The pots are full of water.
And the crank? It’s damaged too.
That engine’s coming out.
This story’s not done yet — but it’s already a tough reminder:
When warning systems fail, the damage doesn’t wait.
And an overheated engine can go from bad to catastrophic in just one drive.
