A customer came to us because their wheel bearings had developed play not long after getting new tyres fitted. A simple enough fix — or so it should’ve been.

But when we went to remove the wheels, we hit the real problem:
the tyre shop had overtightened the wheel nuts so badly that we couldn’t get them off using normal tools.

When that happens, there’s only one solution left — we crack out the oxy torch. It’s not our first choice, but sometimes it’s the only way to safely break the nuts free without damaging the hub.

Once we managed to remove the wheels, we replaced the wheel studs, fitted new wheel nuts, and installed fresh wheel bearings to make sure everything was safe and running smoothly again.

The customer left with a truck that handled properly, stopped properly — and wheels that could actually be removed next time without a fight.

At Webbie’s Mechanical, it’s not just about fixing what’s broken — it’s about doing it safely, correctly, and with care.
