Iveco Powerstar in the workshop today for a front diff leak.
Customer noticed oil coming from the front diff, and also leaking at the join between the front diff and the power divider — the kind of leak that starts small… then turns into a messy, expensive problem if it’s left too long.
To fix it properly, you can’t just “seal around the outside” and hope for the best.
The right way is to remove the front diff and power divider together as one unit.
So that’s what we did:
✅ Pulled the full assembly out and set it into a cradle
✅ Split the power divider from the front diff
✅ Cleaned both mating surfaces properly (no shortcuts)
✅ Resealed everything and replaced the leaking input nut seal
✅ Reassembled, pressed it back in, and bolted it all up tight
Now it’s sealed, solid, and ready to work — no oil loss, no grime build-up, no downtime waiting to happen.
If you’ve spotted a diff leak, don’t ignore it.
A quick check early can save a whole lot of repair later.
