You might think overheating is something you can limp through — just get to the next stop, just finish the run.
Unfortunately, this C15 shows exactly why that’s a bad idea.

After overheating, this engine cracked the head and dropped a liner. But the real damage didn’t stop there. Coolant started pumping through the oil system, thinning the oil and stripping away lubrication where it mattered most.

With no proper lubrication, the bearings started to spin on the crank. That scored the crank, damaged the bearings, and turned a bad situation into a catastrophic one.

This is one of the worst cracked C15 heads we’ve seen. As you can see in the video, the cylinders are literally full of water. The cause? A blown radiator hose that went unnoticed, alarms that didn’t trigger, and the truck continued to be driven.

The result is a fully cooked engine.
This is now an out-of-chassis rebuild — the block needs machining, the crank will need machining or replacement, and a new head will be fitted before it ever runs again.

Overheating isn’t just a warning — it’s the engine asking you to stop.
Because once coolant gets into the oil, the damage happens fast… and it happens deep.
