You’re out on a rough track.
The road gets worse, so you flick it into 4WD.
Then it happens.
BANG.
Suddenly the rear axle feels locked up.
Something’s definitely wrong.
Unfortunately… that can often mean a snapped axle.
It’s something we see on 4WD trucks.
First step? Diagnose it fast.
We drop the diff oil and pull an axle.
If the oil is full of metal, chunks are everywhere, and the axle end is missing… you’ve found the problem.
From there, it’s a bigger job.
We fish out the broken axle, remove the diff, clean out all the metal, and replace what’s damaged.
Because when an axle lets go, it’s not just about replacing one part — it’s about making sure the whole diff is clean and ready to work again.
