You want your truck fixed once, and fixed right
Every owner-driver and fleet operator wants the same thing when a truck goes in: fixed once, fixed properly, back on the road without a comeback. No nasty surprises, no second breakdown a week later. That’s the whole point of handing it to someone who does this every day.
But the real story is rarely the one that rolls in the door
The catch is that the job you book isn’t always the job you’ve got. A head gasket can turn out to be a dropped liner. A noisy wheel can hide a bent spindle. A fresh set of injectors can uncover a water pump that’s cracked on the inside. What matters is having someone who keeps digging until they find the real story — before it finds you at 2am on the side of the road.

Four jobs, four lessons
First, a Series 60 booked for a head gasket that became a full out-of-chassis rebuild once we found the liners and seats had gone. Second, a Mercedes from Kalgoorlie whose overdue service turned a simple wheel bearing into a bent spindle and a six-week parts wait. Third, a Hino that ran away, destroyed its own block, and got a low-kilometre replacement engine dropped in. And fourth, a Scania that only revealed a cracked water pump on the test drive. Different trucks, one thread: the fault is usually deeper than it first looks.
